My name is Pete and I have been canoeing and kayaking the lakes, rivers and coastline of Maine my entire life. Growing up, canoe camping trips were a common occurrence. Every spring, a series of white-water canoe races were run while there was still snow on the shore, if not still falling. I began kayaking on the ocean and preparing to be a guide during the summer before my senior year at the University of Maine, and began leading tours in Bar Harbor in 2003. I've lived and paddled in Florida and Oregon, and have kayaked in the San Juan Islands in Washington as well. I have over 10 years of experience guiding in the Porcupine Islands, which can be a wild and very busy place. When the outfitter I guided with in Bar Harbor closed it's doors, this loss eventually became a blessing in disguise as I was able to get out and paddle other areas of the coast. I look forward to sharing some of my experience with you and continuing to explore this amazing coast!
